WHERE WE STARTED

Grace Center Foundation was started in 2006 after co-founder and executive director Marcie Erickson received her first three children through adoption. More people continued to ask her to adopt children but God had another plan – Grace Center.

Grace Center began with a vision to serve children who are orphaned and abandoned. What began with 5 foster children now serves over 50,000 people annually in a large variety of ways, always seeking to share the love of the Lord as the needs of the people are being met.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

At Grace Center we ask: what would Jesus do for this person? Then we do the same. At Grace Center we take each individual that comes to us that is genuinely in need and we help them to reach the goals that God has in mind for them. In the effort to assist all who come to us in need this has led to starting many programs including healing prayer and counseling, our water outreach program, and even our baby rescue hotline.

WHERE WE ARE HEADING

Grace Center is poised for significant growth with two major expansion opportunities.

First, the deputy mayor of Bahir Dar announced on TV his commitment to allocate land in various city sections for Grace Center's new daycares. This expansion will dramatically increase our capacity to support many more women and children in need. We are nearly finished acquiring land in three areas.

Also, we have always known Grace Center wasn’t about one location in a place as big as Ethiopia. A year ago, we were welcomed by the city of Debre Marcos, a four-hour drive south of Bahir Dar. With a population of more than 300,000, there are no other programs in the city. Property rights are not the same as it is in the US. The government must grant us land. Most of the time it takes years to receive land in Ethiopia. In Debre Markos, we received land in less than six months. Just like there weren’t programs in Bahir Dar before 2006, it’s the same with Debre Markos. Until now.

Will you help us continue to save babies throughout Ethiopia by donating to Grace Center?
