Jenifer, pictured here with her youngest niece, served in various capacities in the pro-life movement for decades. Most notably, she was with Iowa Right to Life for 16 years. She started as a volunteer and worked her way on up to CEO. Shortly after she left there to start a pro-life political advocacy organization, her world turned upside down.
In March of 2019, Jenifer unexpectedly learned she had cancer. Not just cancer, she had Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. It had spread to her brain, neck, throat, both humeri bones, spine, both femurs and her pelvic region.
The shock was great and the fight for her life began. To date she has endured more than 30 rounds of chemotherapy, countless radiation treatments, several hospital stays and more. She has lost her hair (regrowing now), endures tremendous pain from the bone cancer, had a rod and screws placed on a femur. Additionally, all of her teeth were destroyed and removed because of cancer treatments.
From the very beginning her medical team has fought hard and relentlessly with her. Her life has been saved because of their efforts and the Mighty hand of God.
Today she is still on chemotherapy she takes at home and other medications. Her scans have shown her to be stable at this point, but the battle rages on.
Jenifer is committed to fighting for her life, not just for herself and family. She is determined to use her life story and continue working in the pro-life movement. Her passion is to share her story with as many people as possible. She is an outspoken opponent to assisted suicide and wants others to see that just because her diagnosis is grim, her outlook is not.
She has shared her story with one State Legislature considering assisted suicide and is determined to continue speaking out as often as she can. She wants all Glory to go to God Alone.
