Kamal was introduced to LifeSiteNews by Monsignor William Shomali of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem (LPJ).
Kamal Al-Tarazi was injured and made homeless in Gaza when the Israeli military bombed his apartment building, destroying his home.
Since then, Kamal, a Latin Rite Catholic, has endured untold suffering in trying to escape Gaza and get treatment in Cairo. He ultimately wishes to live with his brother in the West Bank, but Israeli authorities have so far denied his application to enter through Jordan.
He now sleeps on a bridge in Cairo and is struggling to pay for the medicine he desperately needs.
Please consider donating to Kamal so that he can rent a room in Cairo and pay for his treatment.
The money is being collected by the Catholic Association in Ireland, and will be transferred to Monsignor Shomali of the LPJ. He will then send the money directly to Kamal.
We have confirmed with Monsignor William Shomali that Mr. Al-Tarazi was not involved in any fighting and is suffering the following:
-Diabetes, weakness in the kidney, asthma, high triglycerides, injury to his legs.
-He does not drink even beer.
-He is not involved in any political party or militia.
Below are translated messages sent by Mr. Altarazi to Tim Jackson of LifeSiteNews.
Welcome. I am Kamal Elias Al-Tarazi from Gaza, an elderly person injured in the war. Currently, I am almost paralyzed after the injury, and my house is completely destroyed, and all our money and jewelry are missing. More than 100,000 euros are missing, and all the furniture and the house are completely destroyed. I am currently in Egypt without housing and homeless on the streets for more than a year. Every day in Egypt, I need 90 € for a room, treatment, medication expenses, laboratory tests, a hospital, and food. It is up to you.

Do what you see fit and I will immediately pay them the housing rent because without housing means I am homeless. Thank you, my friend. May the peace of Christ be with you. Thank you very much

Nagham: I need an entry visa to Jordan and coordination at the Mubi Bridge to pass to the West Bank, Bethlehem

The most appropriate thing for my health situation and because my financial situation is non-existent. It is better for you, with your permission, to look for institutions or associations that will help cover the expenses of my health and treatment, as well as housing and food expenses.

The mind cannot imagine it

Good evening, Mr. Archbishop William Shomali. You are a symbol of humanity. Thank you for your call to check on my health and living conditions. Don't forget that I suffered several injuries and fractures in the war and my body was reduced to ashes due to the bombing in Gaza. *I refuse surgery because it is very dangerous, even though the doctors in Egypt are highly qualified, and the cost of the surgery is astronomical. I am satisfied with drug treatments and going to doctors in the advanced hospital called Al-Hayat International Hospital and Al-Salam International Hospital, as well as continuing with physiotherapy sessions in a specialized center because my movement is very slow, which is almost non-existent because I cannot walk at all except for necessity and with crutches, so I need an electric wheelchair. My money is completely gone and I need to buy permanent chronic medicines and this is a picture of the medicines I need permanently. I inform you that the expenses of hospitals, hospitals, motor physiotherapy, medicines, transportation to the hospital and physiotherapy center, housing rent, electricity, water, gas, municipality, and life expenses. Daily food. All monthly expenses are not less than 1000 dinars per month, and this is the least. The matter is up to your honor. Thank you for your honor and the peace of Christ is always with you. Signed by your son Kamal Elias Al-Tarzi of the Latin community.

The moment the missile landed on the Al-Jazeera Residential Tower, the location of our apartment in the Tal Al-Hawa area, I own a furnished residential apartment on the first floor of the tower in the southwestern side, and it was hit by the bombing and war on Gaza. Everything became crushed stones.
