Since the 03 May 2023 unprecedented ethnic violence and destruction to human lives, homes, churches, institutions and property have overtaken the otherwise beautiful State of Manipur, India.
The ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki community have resulted in mutual ethnic cleansing of the communities. In the midst of the conflict places of worship/sacred religious places mostly churches have been either burnt or vandalized.
Over 400 churches have been attacked/destroyed and about 7500 families have been rendered homeless. More than 50000 people are either living in relief camps spread across the State or have fled the State to safer places.
The displaced families most of whom are simple subsistence farmers have lost everything they owned. As of now, they have no place they can call as their own- no land, no shelter, no clothing, no household belongings!
Children who should be in schools are forced to live in Relief camps loitering aimlessly.
Elderly, infants and the sick also have no choice than to put up with the inconvenient atmosphere of the crowded camps. In short, the situation has turned out to be a humanitarian crisis.
There is need to help the displaced people rebuild their lives. If you would like to be part of the mission to rebuild the future of the suffering humanity in Manipur, please support our initiatives to provide immediate Relief, educate the displaced children and construct low-cost houses for the homeless families.
